Another Day in NYC

Activity points are easy to come by in the city. Most people don't own cars so you really have to walk. Went to the flower district this AM then on to Chelsea market, the hi line, and the Limelight. Basically all shopping today. We have ticket to a new Cirque du Soleil production called Banana Shpeel. Great fun, fast paced, musical, full of tricks.
I got in another 4 pts.

This is the Lime Light. A former church turned night club of the 80's now shopping mall.

This is the refurbished Beacon theatre. This was the location of the show tonite.

Building your Support System

This weeks topic is in a way a tough topic to talk about. It's a subject that is essential to our success with our weight loss and involves the people we are closest to. Asking for help is really what it is. Why is that so hard for so many of us. I was watching Biggest Loser tonight and over and over the message was ," this is my new life, I never want to go back to the old me. I need to continue what I have started and make this what I will be for the rest of my life". That message says it all. What we want to become, what makes us happy, healthy, fulfilled is important. Asking for help and support comes easy when you can show the others, friends, family, and coworkers how important this new life is to you.
Do you deserve to feel this way? Do you want to be successful? These are just two questions you should ask yourself. Then get out there and do what you need to do to get that happiness, the fulfillment and the health that you deserve.
Just like NO is a complete sentence, YES is also a complete sentence. YES YOU CAN!!!!!!!!

Dining Out- Mi Mexico

Here is a selection straight off the healthy eating section at my favorite Mexican Restaurant. Did I say healthy and Mexican in the same sentence?????

This is veggie enchilada. This corn tortilla is filled with vegetable, beans and rice with a carrot purée on top. Really good

This Is what the menu looks like. I also love the black bean soup. Yes you can eat out, enjoy and still be on program.

Food find

They are called "thin buns". Made by Earth Grains. Another version of the fabulous 1 pt. Sandwich Thins we have grown to love

These are the healthy specs on them

There is also 4 grams of fiber. I found them at Freddy's. Personally thought they were tastier than the Orowheat ones.

Walk It Challenge Tips

Thanks to Traci B. who found a great resource for all of us who want to know how far we are walking/ running to prepare for the Challenge. Check out http://www.mapmywalk.com/
Many of us walk different trail, neighborhoods where it would be difficult or impossible to figure mileage.
It has been suggested that we have the Bellingham Walk It Challenge on the Saturday June 5th instead of the 6th. My Fairhaven Group thought a 5K in the area would be a great location with plenty of views and places to have lunch after the walk. I was thinking it would be great fun to bring our lunches and meet in Marine Park. Let me know what you think about this.
