Back in the USA

Good to be home.
How did I do with my plan?
Exercise- kept to the plan, what really helped was the pedometer so I knew how much I walked and the points I earned.
Maintain weight on trip-watched portions- checked in at WW. Made it to a meeting and got weighed in stones, love the experience of double digit number
Ate lots of fruits/ veg- made a point of filling plate atleast 1/2 full of these.
Now I look forward to seeing you all at the meetings this week. I'm bringing the English version for you to see.

Can't wait to catch up with you

Easy to figure portions in UK

Whether you are ordering in a restaurant or buying a sandwich at the local market there are great options and info if you take the time to read. Last night in London we ate at a place in the theater district. Great meal but wanted to have just a little something something for dessert. Look what I found.

Look at the portion. Check out the size of spoon. Really good probably 5 bites. Oh so good and just right. Chocolate of course.

Rochester-Home of Charles Dickens

Today we walked the paths of the famous writer. Also visited the cathedral, castle, and Guildhall. Shopping antique shops and charity shops for great finds. We also found a great lunch. Pizza express with the "leggaro" menu(it means lighter.). My pizza was 400 cal, my wine 100 cal and dessert was a tiny cup of gelato, probably 1/4 cup. Here is a photo of the pizza. They cut out the center and put a salad in the middle.

So clever and delicious.

Challenges and rewards of living in the UK

The English certainly know about treats. Luckily you walk everywhere or bike so are burning calories. We have been clicking off the miles again today.

This sort of goes together.

This was a fabulous garden on an estate that we visited. I wanted to be left there an picked up on the return.

Update from Dover

I have my pedometer on and we are logging lots of miles. Today we visited the cliffs of Dover and the castle. What a remarkable history the castle and it's tunnels have. The castle was used in the battle of Dunkirk. Military operations were set up in the medieval tunnels that go out to the cliffs. You can see France from the castle. It also had a hospital set up in the miles of tunnels. Fabulous and very exciting day.

Life in London

Lots of walking in this city even if you use the tube(subway). One new thing I noticed is there are more bike paths and bikers. It takes a lot of guts/ experience to ride on the main streets. There are lots of parks where you can ride. They have bikes you can rent and they are free for the first hour. So lots of Londoners are taking advantage of that and are biking on their lunch breaks or running errands.

I found Weight Watchers

Made it to the open weigh in. I met Kim a leader for 15 years. She gave me the WW stuff for England. They call it Pro Points. It's very exciting as now I have the English food values.
I bought some things to bring home.
They have many of the same products but just look a little different.
One thing they give their members only in England is the point wheel. You will have to wait to see what that is.
