The 2010 Challenge is moving fast . I am so proud of all of you for sticking with it. I think we are all learning alot from these challenges. I hope everyone got the opportunity to go out to eat this past week and make the best possible choices for you.
This week is really where it's at. The home kitchen where everyone gathers, eats and finds what they will eat for the day.
Come to the meeting to get tips on point saving foods, good snack options, and ideas that other members have used to be successful. Keeping a healthy kitchen with good choices for you will help you make wt. loss progress but also help your family to learn how to eat healthier.
Don't forget about the final OPEN HOUSE this Saturday, Feb. 27th 1-4 PM. Please come and get your gift and put your name in for a drawing for great prizes. We will have vendors with WW friendly services for you to enjoy.
See you in the meetings!!!!!

Week 4 of the 10 week Challenge--Emotional Hunger vs Physical Hunger
How can you tell if your hunger is from the neck up or the neck down.
Real Hunger grows gradually. You will eat anything. You can wait. You stop when you feel full. You feel good after eating. You feel energized.
Emotional Hunger hits suddenly. You crave a specific food (usually high in fat). You need to be satisfied instantly. No amount of food fills you. You feel guilty after eating. You feel heavier.
This weeks challenge is to make a list of 10 things you can do instead of eating when emotional eating strikes. Come with a list to share at next weeks meeting.
See you then!

Week 2 Satisfaction Challenge
Week 2 challenge is to choose 10 meals that you focus completely on filling foods. I look forward to seeing what you found out and how it affected your satisfaction levels and your wt. loss this week.
I also focused on filling foods and changed up some of my breakfast choices. One recipe was the Morning Glory muffins in this months WW magazine. They were a member favorite that had had makeover so their point value went from 5 to 2 pts. They were delicious and had both regular flour and whole wheat plus carrots and crushed pineapple. Definately filling with my nonfat yogurt and coffee.
See you all this week with your ideas and results. Week 3 challenge will activity. We all have our personal challenges with that. Lets see how we can look at this differently and accomplish our goal.

Getting Ready for todays meeting Week of 1/10-16
Please come to the meeting with what you discovered about yourself and your food choices this past week as you tracked.
This will be the first week of the 10 week challenge.
As you have seen I posted the Lasagne slow cook recipe for those who missed it. I will try to keep a few copies of past weeklys for those who missed. If you want your own copy just call the 1-800-651-6000 number and they will send you a copy.
I also made the slow cooker Italian vegetable soup in the weekly. It was fabulous as written. If you wanted to add protein like beans or chicken or make it heartier like pasta just track how much you add and then divide by 8 which is the number of servings.
See you at the meeting this week.
2010 Great Recipes - Slow Cooker Lasagna
This recipe is from our Weight Watcher Weekly December 27, 2009 - January 2, 2010.
I have had many members mention that this is a GREAT recipe.
I've included the scan here :)

The Momentum 2010 Challenge
During the first 10 weeks of the new year we will be challenging ourselves to one key skill per week. We will focus on a particular skill each week with a challenge to put these skills into action. This first week will be to stay on track with tracking.
Did you know that we tend to underestimate our food intake?
Trackers represent a record of what we've eaten, not a record of when we are perfect!
Tracking fosters a sense of accountability and control.
This week you will find out what you have learned through tracking about when you eat and why.
Why does it make a difference to write down everything- even that cookie you didn't intend to eat?
Let's see you at the meeting this week and get this year off to a great START !!!!!!!
